Ecological niche
An ecological niche of a living organism is the role the organism has in its environment. The ecological niche of most plants are to be the primary producers in their environment by photosynthesising to make their own food but the environment that they live in can vary greatly.

MesophytesThe ecological niche of mesophytes is to be the primary producers in their environment. Mesophytes are the most common plants around us as they are plants that do not live in extreme conditions where there neither is too much water (hydrophytes) or not enough (xerophytes). But because there is water in abundance at most times, their adaptations are not to keep out the water or to conserve it, but to absorb the water when needed and control the loss of water through transpiration, controlling the water balance of the plant.(PeoleStereotypical, 2015) (NinErrin, 2015 )
